Equity Analyst
Key Responsibilities:
- Research on companies: investment research and valuation work in support of the Investment Advisory Team including modelling and incorporating more quantitative analysis which implies the coding and automation of data with the aim to obtain a more robust structure of the equity analysis;
- Help to generate new research content affecting companies, industries, and markets.
- Ad-hoc analysis in relation to, inter alia, investment and engagement themes, economics and strategy, portfolio exposures and risk;
- Participate in peer reviews of investments, Composition Review and other portfolio management activity undertaken by the team;
Duties include:
- Stock and portfolio analysis; balance sheet analysis and ESG data and impact metrics;
- Evaluate proposed investments and recommend whether they are suitable for purchase;
- Modelling, valuation and pricing;
- Working on new ESG initiatives and generation of new investment ideas
- Making recommendations based on your findings to the Investment advisory team;
- Assist with internal and external presentations to enable the audience to gain a good understanding of the work of the department;
- Coding and make the analysis more efficient in terms of use of massive data
- Maintain good relationships with third parties to extract best value from external research and advice;
- Assisting the Investment advisory team in the day to day running of portfolios;
- Speaking with clients on an ad-hoc basis
- Portfolio risk and rebalancing
Key Skills:
- Quantitative based equity analysis, bottom-up stock picking;
- Sector knowledge, with a perspective and appreciation of the financial drivers of value across different sectors;
- A high degree of financial literacy from a related discipline (e.g. corporate finance, credit analysis, or within industry);
- Valuation modelling, and the use of Bloomberg;
- Ability to automate and code (VBA, PYTHON) within the tasks which imply analysis and modelling to improve the stock selection of the universe defined by the Investment Advisory Team;
- Experience of handling meetings and questioning C-suite (ie CFO, CEO) level company management teams;
- Passionate about equity markets and impact investing;
- Strong analytical ability, initiative, independent thinker, and highly numerate;
- Ability to work to deadlines and produce consistent results, in line with team objectives;
- Good organisational and time management skills.
The client is looking for candidates with:
- Masters in Finance/Financial Analysis or equivalent;
- A minimum of two/three years in the equity analysis and stock picking.
- Together with the above you will be solidly numerate and have excellent time management skills required to meet deadlines. You will also have strong analytical skills together with the ability to gather information and use it to draw sound conclusions;
- Must be passionate about ESG and impact investing;
- Strong writing skill, discussing and publishing how world events effect the portfolio;

- Python knowledge and experience including core libraries and data analysis libraries (e.g., Pandas, NumPy, Matplotlib, etc.);
- Excel data analysis and VBA knowledge;
- SQL query knowledge (e.g, complex select queries).
